Prayers/Visit for Ill or the Homebound: If you or someone you know is ill and would like to be placed on the Prayer List or have Communion brought to them, please contact the parish Office to make arrangements. Prayer Shawl Ministry: Prayer Shawls are knitted or crocheted into a "Mantle of Prayer" by parishioners. Designs may be very basic or as complex as the knitter would like. If you know how to knit or crochet, or would like to learn, we would be happy to teach you and welcome you to join our group. If you would like to be part of this ministry but choose not to knit or crochet, we still have other needs you may enjoy doing. We also encourage those who would like to participate but are unable to attend meetings. As the recipients of the Shawls turn over their needs to God, we ask that they might receive the consolation and peace that only God can give. The recipients name is written in a special prayer book so they may be prayed for continually. The Shawls are blessed by our Priests and a prayer is attached. Prayer Shawls are free and are given to those who are seriously ill. For information on joining the ministry or if you know someone who would appreciate a Shawl during illness, please contact the Parish Office.

Sandwiches are made once a month and delivered to the homeless shelter, Christ House, in Old Town Alexandria. It takes about and hour to make the delivery. Sandwiches are made and ready for delivery from St. Lawrence around 11:00 a.m. the first Saturday of the month.
Welcome Committee: The Welcome Committee is a hospitality ministry whose members contact each newly-registered family to invite them to the monthly Knights of Columbus family breakfast. The committee members warmly welcome the families during the breakfast, inform them of our parish, parish activities, and organizations. Membership includes callers who make the invitational calls and greeters who welcome the families at the breakfast. If you are interested in volunteering, please email Christine Sopko at email@example.com

Ushers: Before the Mass starts, the ushers help parishioners find a seat, particularly parents with small children and the elderly. Ushers will ask parishioners who have limited mobility if they wish to receive the Holy Eucharist at their seat and then escort a priest or Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to that person. An Usher will select a couple or family to bring the gifts to the Altar at the Offertory. Most importantly they guard the Host during the reception of Holy Communion to assure that all who receive the Host consume it at the Sanctuary. Please contact the head usher at firstname.lastname@example.org
